fx presents: devs

The aim of this senior studio student project was to create a cohesive brand across multiple platforms for an actual upcoming FX original miniseries by Alex Garland, titled Devs. At the time of the project the series had no current logo, photography, key art, or on-air graphics, so I took advantage of the full creative art direction for the show. I created items for three different aspects of the project--print (logo and key art poster), digital (banner ads and Instagram gif ad), and motion (opening credits sequence).

Opening Credits Sequence

The opening credits focus on intoxicating and contrasting colors, various technological references to programming and computing, and watchful eye motifs, all set to tense synth music. Color manipulation, typographic and graphic choices, and glitch video treatment come together to convey the dark and suspenseful tone of the technological thriller to-be.
