dreamscape

This project was created for the course Studio Concepts, following the prompt of environment/nature/spirituality/ritual. Given the choice of following any of the four prompts, I chose to combine all four by representing a recurring dream I experience almost every night. In the dream, I'm always urged to drive to a specific, beautiful location. I focused on using similar colors that blended into each other like the memories of our dreams upon waking, and grainy textures and noise that gave similar feelings. After creating the illustration, I brought the dream to life as a short animation in After Effects. The clip is a representation of waking in part of the dream, complete with blurring and haziness that gives a dreamlike feeling. The breeze flows and the foliage sways in a moment of peace. The clip blurs out and ends, only to keep repeating as it does every night in my head. For critique, the video was played projected upon a white wall in a completely dark room and set upon an infinite loop.
